Out of the Blue Owner Amy B. Carroll hosts workshops and classes at her studio on Main Street in Zionsville. Classes are designed to be affordable, enjoyable and fun for artists of all ages. They’re a great way to reconnect with friends and learn a new skill. Size is limited and registration in advance is recommended.
Pansy Painting Workshop

Join artist Amy B. Carroll for a step-by-step workshop where you’ll create small pansy paintings (8 × 10 inches) using acrylic paint. Pansies are known for their cheerful colors and expressive faces, making them a wonderful subject for both beginners and experienced painters.
Amy will guide you through simple techniques for building soft petals, vibrant color, and loose floral brushwork so you can leave with two charming spring paintings ready to display or gift.

Join artist Amy B. Carroll for a guided acrylic painting workshop where you’ll create a 16 × 20 inch lilac painting. Amy will walk you step-by-step through techniques for building clusters of blossoms, soft color layering, and loose brushwork that captures the airy elegance of lilacs in bloom.
This class is designed for all experience levels—whether you’re new to painting or simply looking for a relaxing creative night out.
You’ll leave with a finished floral painting ready to hang and a few new painting techniques to take with you.

We will work on building skills primarily through drawing and painting. Students should anticipate working in small groups and working independently for the length of the class. My classes are student based, which means we will begin with structured lessons to understand each student’s strengths and abilities. As we progress, I look to the students for inspiration to build their skills and create student inspired art.

Join Amy and Laura to create two pieces of art. Learn how to use gunpowder (a signature of Laura’s artworks) while you design and create your own small wooden canvas.
