Meet Laura LaForge – Artist at Out of the Blue Art Gallery
Laura LaForge is a self-taught artist with brightly colored works filled with stories and inspirations of modern culture. She identifies with strong women, men of character, the great outdoors, personal relationships and life’s lessons.
Laura is known for working while playing iconic music that fills her soul and makes her works speak to her while she creates. These small to large format acrylic on canvas works often start with lighting gunpower to give texture to the piece. Paintings are often filled with bright colors and exaggerated figures. Mixed materials (bling!) include glass, buttons, and other regular household items that all have symbolism to the final work. She’s hosted several solo shows throughout Indiana and been part of group shows across the country.
“I hope my work inspires you to look at life through a lens with brighter colors.”
Inspirations
Laura draws inspiration from a variety of sources, blending influences from strong women, men of character, and personal relationships. Her vibrant color palette reflects her love for the outdoors, music, and mixed media, while her work pays homage to her daughter, Tayler, and artistic idols like Joan Miró and Picasso.
At Out of the Blue Art Gallery in Zionsville, Laura’s passion comes to life on the canvas. Visitors can witness her creative process firsthand as she works, transforming life’s lessons into art that invites viewers to see the world through a brighter, more colorful lens.
